The Iron Petticoat. Cold War hijinks, bad Russian accents, and recycled one-liners.  Oh, and one more thing:  Dashing leading man Bob Hope (leading man?) plays a jet fighter pilot (no, really) and Katharine Hepburn plays a defecting communist Mig pilot (seriously, I'm not making this up).  For forty years, The Iron Petticoat existed mainly as a rumor, and during that time,  it was impossible not to wonder what in the world this film would be like if it actually existed.  Now, thanks to TCM, we no longer have to wonder--at least about whether it exists or not.  How it ever got made--that's another question.

Thanks for listening!
